MEET OUR COACHES

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
– 1 Peter 4:10

Since graduating from Trinity University with a degree in Accounting in 2007, Nick’s focus has been helping others achieve their goals in both sports and fitness.
After playing 4 years of college baseball at Trinity University and a 3 year professional baseball career in the St. Louis Cardinals organization, Nick went back to his alma mater as the hitting/strength and conditioning coach. It was in these few years back at Trinity that he found his passion as a coach. Since then Nick has been pursuing the art of helping others define and reach their goals.

He has worked with people from all walks of life: professional athletes looking to reach elite levels of athleticism, kids just getting starting on their fitness journey, grandparents trying to improve their quality of life, and amputees returning from service in the military and of course the everyday moms and dads who are looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Nick believes that anyone who walks into The Tribe Strength and Conditioning can benefit from what he and the coaching staff have to offer with regards to health and fitness.

In 2008, after a long break from Football, Ed reclaimed his passion for fitness, sport and nutrition. After gaining an unhealthy amount of weight, it was time for a change. Through the efforts of his personal trainer, encouragement and support from his loving wife, and plain determination and hard work, the results spoke for themselves. Ed experienced higher self esteem, a healthier and more fit physique, and a better quality of life.

It wasn’t long before Ed was competing in local and regional level competitions testing his strength and conditioning. Though the physical and emotional transformation was nice, he realized that his true passion for fitness wasn’t for his own personal accolades and goals, but helping others reach theirs.

After coaching for over 4 years, Ed has come full circle to open and co-own The Tribe Strength & Conditioning. Whether an aspiring athlete, weightlifter, or someone who simply wants to better their quality of life, Ed is excited to share his education in fitness, Olympic weightlifting and nutrition in an effort to make a positive impact on your life.

Pearson graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Kinesiology in 2015. During his time at Texas Tech, he discovered his passion for fitness and nutrition. This passion quickly led him into the world of Physique Competing. After graduating, Pearson was losing interest in the Bodybuilding world and was looking for something to fulfill his competitive spirit. In 2016, Pearson fell into the world of Crossfit and hasn’t looked back. Throughout his time in Crossfit he realized his passion for motivating and encouraging others. This passion opened the door for him to become a coach at The Tribe in 2019. Pearson works with all athletes at any skill level: young athletes looking to make it to the next level in their sport, people coming out of physical therapy trying to regain strength, and the everyday athlete trying to improve their overall quality of life. His goal is to see everyone who walks through the Tribe doors have their life impacted in a positive way!

In addition to coaching classes and personal training at The Tribe, Pearson works at Airrosti as a Logistics Specialist. He has been there for 4 1/2 years and enjoys working with athletes in all different avenues.

Shawn is currently a Kinesiology Student at the University Of Texas at San Antonio.

He began CrossFit the summer before his freshman year of high school as a way to strength train for football. As he dove more and more into the world of CrossFit he quickly realized his passion for the sport and began competing in the CrossFit Open in the teenage division. His success in the Open lead him to securing a spot in the Online Qualifier where he placed well but missed the cutoff to qualify for the CrossFit Games by a few spots!

As Shawn grew more as an athlete he began to also discover his passion for seeing others progress in the sport as well. He began shadowing under Nick and Ed in late 2018 and became a coach for The Tribe by the end of that year. Coaching for Shawn isn’t just a job, it’s an outlet for him to serve others and watch them grow in their athletic journey!

Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.”

Jeanelle stauffer

Massage Therapist

For Coty, fitness began at an early age. It started with Jujitsu at the age of 4, turned to football throughout middle school and high school, and made a pit stop at rugby shortly before a horrific motorcycle accident at the age of 18 that cut short his dreams of any kind of athletic career. Since the accident in 2007, Coty has spent his time in the gym trying to satisfy the need for performance and competition through the avenues of body building, powerlifting, and Olympic weightlifting.

Coty found CrossFit at the end of 2017 and quickly developed a passion for the sport. To him, it was the apex of challenges in the fitness industry, with a big enough emphasis on weightlifting to satisfy his need for “iron therapy.” Overcoming the many obstacles related to the motorcycle accident and the challenges due to a lack of skill and experience made CrossFit the perfect sport for him to maintain consistent growth.

Coaching was a natural byproduct of His love for the sport. Coty reasoned that the joy that he experienced in breaking through his own glass ceilings must be a small indicator of what it would feel like to play a role in seeing the very same thing happen in the lives of those in his CrossFit community.

Focal Massage Recovery
Jeanelle Stauffer, LMT
(480)276-0195
focalmassage@gmail.com

Jeanelle Stauffer is a Licensed Massage Therapist. She was an avid tennis
player during her youth and pursued her passion by playing Div. I and Div.
II collegiate tennis. She graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a
Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Minor in Biology. After
graduating college, she embarked on a journey to obtain her massage
therapy degree from Parker University in Dallas. She graduated as
Valedictorian of her class and truly found her passion and calling to help
people. Her enthusiasm for sports, fitness and wellness has led to working
with individuals to improve recovery, performance and mobility.

Sports Massage Therapy:

Her massage therapy sessions are tailored to each client’s goals and needs.
She focuses on improving mobility, speeding up recovery, reducing injuries
and enhancing athletic or fitness performance.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization

“Scraping”

Jeanelle offers this technique in all of her massage therapy sessions. It is a
specific practice using instruments to improve mobilization of restricted
tissues. These restricted tissues result in decreased mobility which can
eventually lead to injuries or pain. Scar tissues also limits mobility and can
be broken up using this method.

Normatec:

Normatec is external compression that assists in speeding up
recovery and healing.  Great modality to use after an intense workout
to lessen severity of soreness and inflammation. Normatec can
also be utilized as a pre-workout aid to loosen muscles and get blood
flow to a specific area.  Normatec is offered for the legs, arms and hips.

Cupping Therapy:

Cupping Therapy is the practice of applying negative pressure, rather than tissue
compression, with the use of suction cups. This modality releases rigid soft tissue,
loosens adhesions, lifts connective tissue,
increases blood flow and pulls stagnant lactic acid and toxins
from within the muscle and surrounding
areas. Cupping is performed in each massage sessions where Jeanelle sees
 benefits to the clients needs.
